“After coaching with Eric, a different acting coach of mine asked, “where else have you been training?” I mentioned my sessions with Eric and he said, “it shows, in the best way.” Coaching with Eric gave me a new perspective into diving deeper into the core of character and the context of the script, while allowing my natural instincts to shine. He brings a hyper sense of effective naturalism to the work, with a passionate and clear approach that guides while allowing you to play. Eric did a great job about making me think critically of the business, what I am wanting out of my career, and the avenues to advance. His vast amount of experience allows him to get real and speak candidly on this industry, something I greatly appreciated. Eric’s love for the craft and work ethic for his own career made it such an inspiring and supportive class to be a part of, filled with lots of laughs and knowledge I’ll keep in my repertoire for years to come.”

MEET A DIFFERENT KIND OF PERSONAL TRAINER

Eric Allan Kramer

Actor, Director, writer, fight master

Hello! Welcome to my page…

My name is Eric Kramer, but I’ve also been called Bob Duncan, Little John, Bear, Lodge 49’s Sovereign Protector and even Thor. That big guy from that thing you saw.

With over 30 years in front of and behind the camera, numerous series regular, recurring and guest star roles, as well as a lifetime on stage, I bring real world experience to my classroom. I have seen this industry from all sides and know first hand what producers and directors are looking for in an audition and what they expect from an actor on set. Because of this, I have successfully taught many years of acting and improv classes, guest directed as many workshops, and lectured and worked with students of all ages. I don’t coach from a book and I don’t try to mold actors into something or someone else. I encourage the discovery of who you are and what you can bring to your work. You are your greatest asset as an actor.

We know how things have changed for actors with auditions and callbacks moving to self tapes and online meetings. Love it or hate it, it is here to stay. So it’s no surprise that my coaching focus has shifted to the virtual classroom. Simply put, working online gets you better online as well as in front of the camera. I have learned a lot from the experience of the last few years, booked several jobs with that knowledge, and want to share that insight with you. Together we can get you to your best work and help you deliver an honest, connected performance that will get you to stand out and offer up the best chance of landing the role.

I was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan. My father played football in the CFL which moved our family to Canada. Like my dad I also played a lot of sports but found myself a home in the Junior High and High School Drama Departments which would eventually lead me to the University of Alberta where I received my Bachelors in Fine Arts (Acting). After graduation I worked across Canada as an actor, director, writer and fight choreographer in productions that ranged from RICHARD III to THE ROCKY HORROR SHOW. I came to Los Angeles with THE FOREIGNER and shortly afterwards landed the role of THOR in THE INCREDIBLE HULK RETURNS, my own tiny slice of the MCU. This would be the project that would keep me in California and, even though my career has taken me around the world, Los Angeles has been my home ever since. I am father to three incredible daughters who remind me daily that I am still on my journey. I want to help you on yours.

Acting is a lifelong education and every day is a new opportunity to learn and get better.

Young or old, beginner or veteran, your acting muscles need exercise. Together we can get and keep you in top performance shape, ready for your next opportunity. So grab your material, hydrate, and I’ll see you in my acting gym for some reps. I look forward to meeting and working with you.

Cheers!

“Eric Allan Kramer is a treasured resource.  Whenever I have a client or student that is struggling with an audition I send them without hesitation to Eric.  As a guest speaker he is also a fantastic motivator for young artists.  I highly recommend him.”

Steve Rodriguez , McGowan/Rodriguez Management and Senior Lecturer, Loyola Marymount University

“I started being coached by Eric in 2020 and since then my skills and confidence have improved significantly. Each coaching session feels like a collaborative and creative process. Eric builds on what I bring to the table offering tweaks and adjustments to elevate my performance. He always takes my ideas/instincts into consideration when giving suggestions and I always leave the Zoom call feeling confident in what I put on tape. I would recommend Eric to all my actor friends!”

“I had the pleasure of working alongside Eric Allan Kramer for five years on Good Luck Charlie. During that time I got to know him as a generous actor and an inventive director.  He brings a strong work ethic and an easy going attitude to set.   His creative process is collaborative and fun and He brings a unique ability to work with actors of all ages. He’s a world class motivator with great comedic timing and an expert at converting the audition to a job offer.  Eric Allan Kramer is a great teacher who has much to share from his vast experience in movies and television.”

Drew Vaupen , Co-Creator/Executive Producer Good Luck Charlie
“I was lucky enough to have Eric  teach a masterclass for my students.  Not only were they over the moon excited to ask him questions about the industry, they were extra excited to be coached by him, and he did not disappoint. He gave everything he had to them, taking his time with each student, and taking into consideration where they were in their acting journey, personality, and age.  He guided them to another level within their scene work, all the while throwing out gems of the business that can’t be learned in a book. I saw my students grow personally and professionally while working with him.  Some people just know how to speak the kid/teen language when coaching, and Eric spoke to them in a way they could hear him, and execute what he was asking from them.  We can’t wait to have Eric back again!  He is simply the best!”
Katy Jacoby , Owner - J&O Creatives

“Eric Kramer is a phenomenal Actor and a master of his craft. He has an ocean of knowledge and experience in the trade. He will push you to places that you didn’t were possible and encourage you to make interesting and fun choices in your work while telling a story that has structure and meaning. He encourages and embraces young artists to be bold and to dive deep into the life of the character. I love working with Eric, he creates a safe wonderful environment for actors to explore their craft. His coaching is invaluable and you will learn, play and grow immensely when you work with this man. Thanks for all your wisdom, guidance and support over the years Eric you are the best!”
